A bridge remembered from childhood may have carried more courage than its actual height required.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Memory keeps the scale of the person who was there. A crossing that measures nothing to your adult legs was genuinely large to a smaller body with less experience of the world, and the courage it took was real courage, not an exaggeration you can now correct. Returning and finding the thing modest does not cancel what happened. It only shows how much you have grown since.
If you catch yourself dismissing something you once found hard, try measuring it by who you were rather than who you are. The same generosity is worth extending to anyone facing something you have already outgrown.
What terrified you as a child and looks small now?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
