An imperfect result can answer the need better than a beautiful delay.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Usefulness is time-sensitive in a way that quality is not. Something rough that arrives while the problem is live can be worth more than something excellent that arrives after the decision was made, the meal was eaten, or the person stopped needing it. Perfectionism often presents itself as high standards. Sometimes it is simply a preference for how you would like to be seen over what the other person actually required.

Ask of the thing you are polishing whether anybody is waiting on it. If they are, send the version that is good enough today and offer to improve it afterwards.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What are you polishing while somebody waits for something usable?
