The page you fold down marks where another mind interrupted your day.

CREATIVITY
A fold is a record of contact. Something on the page stopped you, which means another person’s thinking reached across whatever distance there was and interrupted the ordinary flow of your afternoon. The mark is not really about the book. It is about the moment when you recognised something and wanted to be able to come back to it.
Go back to two folded pages this week and see whether they still catch you. What has stopped mattering tells you how you have changed, and what still holds is worth copying out somewhere you will meet it again.
Which passage stopped you lately enough to mark the page?
