A rehearsal room needs enough trust for an awkward idea to become a useful one.

Good ideas rarely arrive presentable. They turn up clumsy, half said, slightly embarrassing, and they only become useful if the room lets them exist long enough to be improved. A group that laughs at first attempts will get fewer of them, and will mistake the resulting quiet for everyone agreeing.
Give the next awkward suggestion in your hearing thirty seconds of genuine attention before responding. Ask what the person is reaching for rather than what is wrong with it. If the awkward idea is yours, say it anyway, and say plainly that it is not finished.
Where do you feel safe enough to say a clumsy idea?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
