The person who knows your hobby as well as your title has met more of you.

Being known at work is being known in one dimension. A colleague who has only ever met the professional version has a fairly thin file: what you are competent at, how you behave in meetings, and very little else. Someone who also knows that you keep bees, or play badly in a band, or run at five in the morning, has met a considerably larger person.
Let one fact from outside work slip out this week where you usually would not. Ask a colleague something that has nothing to do with the job. Most working relationships improve the moment they contain one thing that is not work.
