You don’t need to silence every negative thought; you need to stop giving each one a vote.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

You are not the author of every thought that appears. Some arrive out of tiredness, some out of old training, some out of a comment someone made years ago, and they show up whether or not you approve of them. The problem is not that dark thoughts exist. The problem is treating each one as a stakeholder whose opinion must be weighed before you act.

Try hearing a negative thought without answering it. Let it be a noise in the room rather than a message addressed to you. Then act on the plan you made when you were clear-headed, and notice that the thought does not get to follow you into what you actually did.
