You’ll never discover your capacity while constantly measuring yourself by your comfort.

REFLECTION
Comfort is a poor instrument for measuring capacity, because it only ever reports on what you have already grown used to. If you use it as the gauge, everything you have not done yet will read as beyond you, which tells you about your habits rather than your limits. You end up mistaking the edge of familiarity for the edge of ability. They are usually very far apart.
Choose something that makes you slightly uneasy but is not actually dangerous, and do it before your reasons arrive. Speak first in the meeting, ask for the thing, take the harder route home. Capacity is only visible on the other side of the discomfort that was hiding it.
When did you last do something your comfort argued against?
