Creativity cannot breathe while every idea is being graded immediately.

Grading is a finishing activity applied to something unfinished. When every sentence is scored as it appears, the work never accumulates enough material to be judged fairly, and you end up assessing fragments that were never meant to stand alone. The pressure is not rigour, it is interruption.

Make a place where nothing counts. A notebook you never show, a folder marked as scratch, a first hour that produces no verdicts. Then bring the standards back at a point where they can actually help.
