The best men are not those who have waited for chances, but who have taken them,—besieged the chance, conquered the chance, and made the chance their servitor.

RESILIENCE
Opportunity is more often made than received. Waiting for the right moment feels prudent and is mostly a way of keeping the decision comfortable, since a chance that arrives fully formed and obviously yours is rare. What actually happens is that somebody presses on something ordinary until it becomes an opening. The difference between the two approaches is largely temperament rather than luck.
Take the vague opportunity you have been circling and do something irreversible about it this week: send the message, make the offer, book the thing. Waiting adds no information. It only moves the same decision further down the calendar.
Which opening could you force rather than wait to be offered?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
