A genuine passion is like a mountain stream; it admits of no impediment; it cannot go backward; it must go forward.

GRATITUDE
Real wanting has a direction to it, and obstacles change its route rather than its destination. That is one way to tell a genuine interest from an admired one: the genuine one reappears after every sensible argument against it. It does not need scheduling so much as accommodating. Whatever you return to unasked is telling you something.
Notice what you drift back to when nothing is required of you. If it keeps surviving your own attempts to be reasonable, stop treating it as a distraction and give it a real hour. Be honest too about which stated ambitions have never once moved on their own.
What pull in you has never once let you turn back?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
