All that is human must retrograde if it do not advance.

— Edward Gibbon

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Nothing built by people holds its place on its own. A skill you stop practising gets slower, a friendship you stop tending gets thinner, a business that stops improving starts losing ground to one that has not. Standing still feels like safety, but the ground itself is moving, and standing still on moving ground is drift.

Pick one thing you have quietly been maintaining rather than developing. Ask what a small advance would look like this month, and make it, even if it is modest. The point is not speed but direction.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What of yours has slipped backward simply from standing still?
