Good leaders distribute credit and absorb responsibility.

LEADERSHIP
Credit and responsibility naturally flow the wrong way, upward and downward respectively, unless someone deliberately reverses them. Sending credit down and absorbing failure yourself costs you in the short term and produces a group that will take risks, report problems, and stay. It is a trade with a long payoff.
After the next success, name the specific people and what they did. After the next failure, describe your part first. Both are noticed more than you expect.
Whose contribution have you failed to name in front of others?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
