Purpose does not always arrive as passion; sometimes it begins as responsibility accepted seriously.

Passion is unreliable as a starting point, since it usually appears after competence rather than before it. Responsibility taken seriously is a more dependable entry, because doing something carefully for long enough tends to generate the interest that was supposed to come first.
If you are waiting to feel passionate before committing, try reversing the order. Take something on properly for six months and see what develops. Feeling frequently follows action rather than preceding it.
