Purpose becomes easier to recognize when ego stops demanding that it be extraordinary.

Ego insists that purpose be impressive, and that requirement disqualifies almost everything actually available. Once the demand relaxes, purpose becomes easy to see, since it was sitting in the ordinary work and relationships that were being rejected for not being large enough.

Ask what you would consider your purpose if it did not have to sound like anything. The answer is often already happening, and has been overlooked because it does not describe well.
