Sometimes life tests whether you want the destination or only liked imagining it.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Enjoying the idea of something is easy and honest, and it is entirely different from wanting the thing itself, which arrives with tedium, setbacks, and long unglamorous middles. The test usually comes early, at the first stretch where the fantasy and the reality clearly diverge. Finding out you only liked the picture is not a failure. It is useful, and much better learned in year one than year six.

When a goal starts to bore or frustrate you, ask whether you want the daily reality of it or only the image. Look at what someone who has it actually does on a Tuesday. If the answer is no, you have just saved yourself years, and that is a good outcome.
