Consult your friend on all things, especially on those which respect yourself. His counsel may then be useful, where your own self-love might impair your judgment.

GRATITUDE
You are the least reliable judge of anything that concerns you directly. Self-regard bends the evidence quietly: it makes your reasons look better than they are, your part in a conflict smaller, and your abilities either inflated or dismissed depending on the day. Someone standing slightly outside can see the shape of it in a minute. That is not because they are wiser, only because they are not defending anything.
Take the decision you keep turning over alone and describe it out loud to one person who will disagree with you. Ask what they would do. You are not obliged to follow it, only to hear it.
Whom could you ask about the decision you keep deciding alone?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
