Quality is not an act, it is a habit.

— Aristotle

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Anyone can produce something good once, under favourable conditions and with enough attention. What people actually mean by quality is a floor: the standard that holds on the tired days and the rushed ones. That floor is built out of repeated small choices rather than any single effort, which is why it takes so long to establish and so little to erode.

Look at the corner you cut most often when pressed. Stop cutting that particular one for a month, and let the standard become boring rather than heroic.
