You have to do your own growing no matter how tall your grandfather was.

Family can hand you a great deal: a name, advantages, expectations, sometimes a legacy that opens doors. It cannot hand you maturity, competence or character, which have to be built in your own years regardless of what the previous generation managed. The reverse is true as well. A family history of failure or hardship does not decide your height either.
If you grew up in someone’s shadow, notice which of your goals are really theirs. If you grew up with little to inherit, notice which limits you absorbed that were never yours. In both cases the growing still happens one choice at a time.
What have you inherited that you have not yet earned?
