The direction in which education starts a man will determine his future in life.

— Plato

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Early learning sets more than a store of facts. It shapes what you think is possible, what you expect of yourself, and which questions feel worth asking, and those expectations steer a life long after the lessons are forgotten. To say it settles everything is too strong, since plenty of people change direction later, but the starting angle does matter.

Look back at what your early education taught you to believe about your abilities. Some of it may be worth keeping and some may still be quietly limiting you. If you influence a young person’s learning, notice which direction you are pointing them in.
