Man’s mind stretched to a new idea never goes back to its original dimensions.

Once you have genuinely understood something new, you cannot un-understand it. A new perspective changes how you see everything related to it, and even if you later reject it, the space it opened remains. Learning in this sense is not adding items to a shelf but enlarging the room.

Choose something this week that will stretch you: a book outside your usual interests, a conversation with someone whose life is very different, a subject you have always found intimidating. You do not need to agree with it. Just let it widen you.
