The ability to convert ideas to things is the secret of outward success.

— Henry Ward Beecher

LEADERSHIP

WHAT THIS MEANS

Ideas are abundant and cheap; the scarce skill is finishing something so that it exists outside your head. Most people who seem prolific are not having better notions, they are completing a higher fraction of the ones they get. Conversion, not conception, is where nearly everyone stalls.

Pick the smallest idea you have been carrying and get it to a state somebody else can see this week. Rough is fine, and finished is the point. One completed small thing teaches you more than ten promising unfinished ones.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which of your ideas has never made it into the world?
