Wisdom, compassion, and courage are the three universally recognized moral qualities of men.

RESILIENCE
Three capacities keep appearing wherever people describe a good character, and they need each other. Judgement without kindness turns cold and clever, kindness without nerve collapses the moment it costs something, and nerve without judgement is mostly noise and damage. Any one alone tends to curdle. The combination is rare because the three are trained in entirely different ways.
Work out which of them comes easiest to you and which you quietly avoid. Then give the weak one a small assignment this week: the difficult conversation, the unglamorous act of help, the decision you keep dodging. Character grows in that direction, not in the direction you are already good at.
Which is hardest for you, being wise or kind or brave?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
