He alone is free who lives with free consent under the entire guidance of reason.

REFLECTION
Freedom often gets imagined as the absence of rules, which in practice hands you to whichever impulse is loudest that afternoon. The alternative is a self-chosen structure: living by principles you have examined and agreed to, so that actions come from your considered self rather than from appetite or habit. Consent is the crucial word. A rule you inspected and accepted constrains you far less than a compulsion you never noticed.
Name one pattern that runs your week without your permission. Then decide deliberately what you want the rule to be instead, and choose it rather than merely obeying it.
Which rule do you follow by choice rather than by pressure?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
