Pursue some path, however narrow and crooked, in which you can walk with love and reverence.

GRATITUDE
Two conditions are set and neither is about scale. The path can be small, odd and unimpressive to everybody else; what it has to be is something you can approach with affection and some seriousness. That rules out a great deal of what people take on for status, and it leaves room for work nobody has heard of.
Run your current direction against the pair. Do you actually like this, and do you take it seriously? If the answer to either is no, the size of the achievement will not compensate, and a narrower path that passes both tests will be worth more over twenty years.
Could you follow a narrow path with real affection?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
