A stubborn problem may require a different model, not stronger frustration.

CREATIVITY
When a problem will not yield, the usual response is more effort and more irritation, and both assume your understanding of the situation is correct. Often it is not. The thing behaves strangely because your picture of how it works is wrong, and no amount of force will fix a picture. What is needed is a different account of what is going on.
After several failed attempts, stop and ask what you would have to be mistaken about for this to make sense. Ask someone who thinks differently. A better model usually makes the problem straightforward rather than merely easier.
Which assumption about your problem have you never questioned?
