Predictions about you, your own and other people’s, are built from past performance. When you grow, those predictions become unreliable, and the tools that used to describe you accurately start to miss. This is why development often meets resistance, since everyone including you is working from measurements taken before the change.

When people underestimate you based on an older version, that is expected rather than unfair. Give the evidence time to accumulate. And check whether you are doing the same thing to yourself, which is usually the more limiting version.
