Opposition is true friendship.

GRATITUDE
Agreement is comfortable and tells you almost nothing. Someone willing to say you are wrong is risking your regard, which is a strange thing to do unless they care about the outcome more than the ease between you. Flattery keeps a friendship pleasant and leaves you exactly where you were. Honest resistance is one of the few ways another person can be genuinely useful to you.
Think of who last told you something you did not want to hear, and notice whether you cooled toward them. If so, go back. When you next disagree with someone you care about, say it rather than storing it.
Who disagrees with you and still clearly wants your good?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
