Trust yourself enough to admit when someone else knows better.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Deferring to someone with more knowledge requires a stable sense of your own worth, not a weak one. If your standing feels precarious, admitting that another person is right feels like losing ground, so you argue past the point of usefulness. Secure people can concede quickly because nothing structural depends on winning.
In your next disagreement, notice whether you are defending a position or defending your standing. If it is the second, say plainly that they know this better than you. It costs less than you think and buys a great deal.
Who knows more than you about something you defend?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
