A cast-iron pan gets better with every rough use. Treat hard days like seasoning.

RESILIENCE
Some things are damaged by use and some are built by it. Iron takes heat and oil and rough handling and turns it into a surface nothing sticks to, which is the opposite of wear. People work that way more often than they realize, in that the days you would not choose leave you harder to rattle.
Think back to a stretch that felt awful at the time and name one thing you can now do because of it. Keep that answer somewhere you can find it. The point is not to enjoy the heat, only to remember that it is doing something.
Where did rough use make you better instead of worse?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
