Moods are forecasts, not facts. Carry an umbrella and keep walking.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

A mood arrives with a full set of conclusions attached, and it presents them as discoveries about your life rather than as a temporary state. Most of them will not survive the week. Treating how you feel as a prediction rather than a verdict leaves room for it to be wrong, which it frequently is.

When something feels certain and bleak, note the time and check the same thought two days later. Keep doing the ordinary things while you wait, because stopping tends to confirm the forecast. Have one or two things that shift it slightly, and use them without expecting a cure.
