RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Waiting with no visible progress is a specific kind of misery, because you cannot tell slow apart from broken. Stretches like that do end, though the ending almost never announces itself in advance. Feeling permanent and being permanent are different things, and the feeling is by far the louder of the two. Most of what you are waiting on is moving somewhere you cannot watch.

While you are in one, keep the parts of your week that do not depend on the answer. Sleep, school, the shift, the people. Those carry you across, and you will be glad you kept them.
