Failure can damage a plan without damaging the objective.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

A plan is a route, and the destination is separate from it. When something fails, the natural move is to abandon both, but often only the route was wrong and what you actually wanted remains entirely reachable. Separating the two keeps a bad month from costing you a direction.

After a setback, ask explicitly whether what failed was the goal or the approach. Usually it is the approach. Keep the objective and rebuild the path underneath it.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which goal did you drop when only the plan for it broke?
