Success makes you more visible, not more important than anybody else. Don’t mix those up.

Getting noticed changes how people treat you, and it is easy to read that treatment as a statement about your value as a person. Visibility is a position, not a rank. Someone nobody is currently looking at is not worth less; they are just not currently being looked at.

Watch how you speak to people who cannot help you, especially during a good month. Keep at least one friendship where your results are not the subject. That is where you find out who you are without the attention.
