GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
It takes a quarter of a second and delivers a full paragraph: I have heard this, I do not rate it, and I do not rate you either. Nothing you say afterward outweighs it, because people trust the involuntary thing. Often it is genuine frustration and you were not aiming it at the person. They received it anyway.
Catch yours before it lands, especially with family, where it has become automatic. If you disagree, use words instead, which gives them something to answer.
Who has seen your face say something your mouth denied?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
