If you wait to feel confident before you act, you’ll wait forever. Confidence arrives after, like a receipt.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Waiting to feel ready is waiting for the wrong thing, because that feeling is produced by evidence and you have not generated any yet. Confidence is what your brain concludes after watching you handle something, not a mood that turns up beforehand to authorize you. Nobody’s first time ever felt certain.
Act at about seventy percent of the confidence you think you need. Then keep some record of what you handled, even a note on your phone. Reading it back is how the evidence becomes available the next time you are standing at the edge of something.
Which confidence are you expecting to arrive before you begin?
