The weirdest idea in the meeting is sometimes the only original one. Say it before you talk yourself out of it.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Safe ideas in a meeting are usually ones two other people already had, which is why they land so softly. A strange idea has not been sanded down by everyone’s agreement yet, and that roughness is the part worth hearing. The window is short, because the longer you rehearse it silently, the more reasons you find to keep it there.
Try offering it early and unfinished, as a question instead of a proposal. You lose very little if it goes nowhere, and you find out who in the room thinks the way you do.
Which odd idea did you talk yourself out of sharing?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
