Being cringe is the tax on trying something new. Pay it and move on.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Awkwardness is the entry fee for anything you have not done before, and everyone who is good at something now paid it where people could see. It hits loudest at the start, when your taste is already sharp but your hands are not, so you can hear exactly how far off you are. That gap closes, and it closes faster if you stay inside it.

Decide ahead of time that the first few attempts will be rough and that you are fine with that. Keep the evidence: a photo, a recording, a first draft. In six months it turns funny instead of painful.
