Some things need you all in. Others just need a toe. Wisdom is knowing which is which.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Not everything deserves the same amount of you. Some things only work if you go in completely, because the half-hearted version produces nothing usable, while others are just a question you can answer with one toe and an afternoon. Mixing the two up is how people either burn out or never begin.
Before starting, decide which kind it is and say so out loud. If it is a test, keep it small and give it an end date. If it needs everything, clear real space for it and stop pretending it fits in the gaps.
Where are you going all in when a toe would do?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
