Move when waiting stops adding value.

There is a point where continued waiting stops producing information or improving your position, and past it delay is pure cost. Recognizing that point is the other half of patience, and people who are good at waiting sometimes miss it. The signal is usually that nothing new has arrived for a while.

Set a review date for anything you are waiting on. When you reach it, ask whether the last stretch produced anything. If not, move now rather than extending on habit.
