Original doesn’t have to mean loud. Sometimes it’s the quietest kid in class with the strangest, best idea.

Originality gets confused with volume, so people assume you have to be strange in an obvious way to count as interesting. Most genuinely new things come from someone who has been paying close attention while everybody else was talking. Being quiet is not an absence of ideas, and a noisy room is usually a room where nobody has been thinking for very long.
If you are the quiet one, write the idea down and hand it over rather than waiting for a gap. If you are the loud one, ask whoever has not spoken what they think, and then actually wait.
Whose quiet idea in your class have you overlooked lately?
