Mentors don’t need you to be perfect. They need you to show up having tried what they suggested.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Anyone helping you is spending time they could spend elsewhere, and what keeps them spending it is evidence that the effort went somewhere. Coming back having attempted the suggestion, even badly, tells them their investment is working. Arriving with the same question and no attempt tells them something else, and they usually stop offering without ever explaining why.
Before your next conversation with somebody who helps you, do the thing they last suggested. Bring what happened, including the part that went wrong. That is more useful to them than a clean result.
