Practicing only what you’re good at isn’t practice. It’s a highlight reel for an audience of one.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Repeating what you already do well feels excellent, and that is the problem. It produces the sensation of a productive session with almost no improvement inside it, because nothing was ever at the edge of your ability. Real practice is mildly unpleasant and full of failed attempts, since that is what learning feels like from the inside.
Give the first part of your session to whatever you avoid: the weak hand, the question type you dread, the shot you keep missing. Track it so you can see it move. Finish with something you enjoy so you come back tomorrow.
What do you avoid practicing because you are bad at it?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
