You don’t work better under pressure. You just finally start working.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Pressure does not improve your work, it just removes the option of avoiding it. What feels like a superpower at two in the morning is mostly relief that the choice is finally gone. You are not faster under a deadline, you are just finally present, and you could have been present on Sunday.

Try giving yourself an earlier deadline that another person knows about, since that is what makes it real. Twenty minutes booked for a start is often all it takes. The pressure you build on purpose is cheaper than the pressure that builds itself.
