A verse you chew on all day does more than ten you skimmed before breakfast.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
Skimming produces the feeling of having read something, which is not the same as having taken anything in. One line carried around all day keeps meeting your actual life, the argument at lunch, the thing you are dreading at four. That contact is where it does its work.
Take one short verse tomorrow morning and leave it in your pocket all day. Come back to it when you are bored or annoyed and see what it says to that moment. Ten skimmed will not do what one lived with does.
Which single line of Scripture could you carry through tomorrow?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
