Don’t let someone become your whole world. That job is already filled.

Making one person your entire centre puts a weight on them that nobody can carry. The place you are trying to fill was never a person shaped hole, and giving it to someone sets you both up to fail. That space already belongs to God, and loving somebody deeply is a different thing from orbiting them.

Notice whether your mood this week tracked one person’s attention almost exactly. Keep the friendships, hobbies and prayers that exist outside them. Somebody is better loved by a person with a life than by a person with only them.
