Alone in your room isn’t the same as abandoned. Somebody is still in there with you.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

An empty room can feel like proof of something it is not. Nobody texted, nobody came, and the quiet starts building an argument about whether you matter. Being by yourself is a fact about the room. Being abandoned is a story laid on top of it, and God is in there with you whether or not it feels like anything at all.

If tonight is one of those nights, you do not have to talk yourself into feeling better. Say one plain sentence out loud to God so the room is not silent. Tomorrow, text one person, not for rescue, just to be in contact with somebody.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

When your room goes quiet, what do you start believing?
