The prayer that went unanswered might be the reason you’re safe today.

Some of what protected you looked, at the time, exactly like being ignored. You asked for something specific, it did not come, and years later you can see what you were spared. That is not a rule, and it would be cruel to tell someone still in pain that their unanswered prayer was secretly a favour. It is a reason to hold your certainty about what you need a little more loosely.

Look back at one thing you badly wanted three years ago. Ask whether you still want it, and what you learned in the gap. Keep asking for things, but leave room for the parts you cannot see yet.
