Asking to be used gets answered in specific and inconvenient ways. It rarely shows up as a dramatic assignment. It arrives as the person needing a ride when you are already late, the shift nobody wanted, the friend who calls during the one evening you kept free. That is the answer, even when it looks like an interruption.

If you pray that, expect the reply in an ordinary form and expect it to cost you something. Say yes to one inconvenient thing this week instead of waiting for a worthier version. Notice afterward how rarely it was as bad as the hesitation suggested.
