Saying Jesus is Lord means He gets a vote on your weekend plans too.

Calling someone Lord is a statement about authority, not a compliment. It is easy to agree with in a service and considerably harder on a Friday night when the plan is made and everyone is waiting on you. If the word means anything, it reaches the calendar, the party, the money, the hours nobody monitors. Otherwise it is vocabulary.

Look at this coming weekend specifically. Ask what you would change if the question were genuinely open instead of already settled. Change one thing, and notice what that small shift costs, because the cost shows you who is actually in charge.
