Rest is admitting you’re not God. That’s the whole point.

GRATITUDE
Refusing to stop is rarely about the work. Underneath it sits the belief that everything collapses without you, that you are the one holding it together, and that belief is flattering enough to keep a person exhausted for years. Rest calls the bluff, because stopping means admitting you are not God and never had that job. The world keeps going for eight hours while you are unconscious.
Let one thing go undone this week on purpose and watch what happens. Sleep instead of finishing the optional part. Notice how much of your busyness was necessary and how much was auditioning for a role nobody assigned you.
What are you holding up that was never yours to carry?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
